North Carolina Business Group on Health Launches Culture of Wellness Awards to Recognize Employer Wellness Programs | national news

Applications open Jan. 3 for businesses of all sizes statewide

CHARLOTTE, NC, Jan. 3, 2022 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) – Starting today, employers in North Carolina can apply for the inaugural Culture of Wellness Awards, presented by the North Carolina Business Group on Health (NCBGH) . The awards recognize the best employer wellness programs across the state and are open to employers of all sizes. Businesses can apply at until February 14, and winners will be announced at NCBGH’s annual Spring Forum in May.

Through these awards, the NCBGH will recognize companies committed to improving the health and well-being of their employees. Research suggests that a healthy workforce is linked to increased employee engagement, business productivity, and overall economic prosperity. The Culture of Wellness Awards were created, in partnership with health services company Cigna, to honor Chris Cote, founding member and wellness champion of the NCBGH.

Applications can be submitted today through February 14, 2022 at and will be assessed by NCBGH and Cigna under seven streams:

– Involvement and support of senior management

* Culture, Foundation, Politics

– Well-being rooted in culture

– Duration of the program in place

– Well-being support policies

* Program offers / Tools / Incentives

– Pillars / Dimensions of health

– On-site, telephone, digital (online) programs

– Rewards for participation / engagement

* Strategic planning / Communication

– Goals and objectives / multi-year strategy

– Brand image of the wellness program

– Communication channels

– Components used in planning

* Metrics and evaluation reports

– Report date used for program planning

– Report to the population

– Means of evaluation

* Organizational commitment data

– Completion of health risk assessment

– Preventive care visits

– Participation in disease management

* Innovation / Technology

– Use technology to meet the changing needs of the population

The NCBGH worked with global health services company Cigna to develop the Culture of Wellness awards program, modeled on the Cigna Well-Being Awards that reward clients with innovative and successful workplace wellness programs. Cigna will partner with NCBGH to select the winners.
